NILE CANOPUS
ABOUT
NILE CANOPUS
This 55-meter dahabeya (double masted Nile cruiser) Nile Canopus, reflects a contemporary take on Egypt’s Golden Era of travel in the late 1800s, when writer Amelia Edwards – one of the first female Egyptologists – spent weeks sailing up the Nile taking notes and making illustrations for her celebrated travelogue A Thousand Miles up the Nile. Everything on the boat, other than a selection of carefully selected antiques, has been custom-made in Egypt. In addition, Nile Canopus offers multiple indoor and outdoor areas and decks to relax and dine. A safari-style tent – a wink to famed archaeologist Howard Carter’s abode during his time in Egypt discovering Tutankhamun’s tomb – shades part of the upper deck, providing a unique spot to sit and watch the timeless scenes along the River Nile pass by.
